Solar Bear Limited’s Mission To create exciting, innovative, multidisciplinary theatre. With a strong social commitment we aim to make progress in areas of accessibility, inclusion and integration and to develop and deliver a wide range of education, outreach and training programmes. Solar Bear Limited was established by Deborah Andrews and Gerry Ramage as a Scottish Charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee in February 2002. Solar Bear Limited houses Solar Bear and Solar Bear UNITED. Solar Bear is a professional theatre company that works primarily with adult artists. It develops new multidisciplinary theatre-making processes and aesthetics in order to create exciting, pioneering theatre which communicates with as wide an audience as possible. Solar Bear UNITED is the only professional ensemble of young actors in Scotland. It engages and encourages young people from all over the country in all aspects of the Company’s work, and offers unique training opportunities and apprenticeships. Additionally, Solar Bear Limited runs interrelated, fully-inclusive, nationwide programmes of outreach activities for young people and adults.   Solar Bear’s Artistic Director, Deborah Andrews, and Solar Bear UNITED’s Artistic Director, Gerry Ramage, are responsible to a non-executive Board of Directors who oversee the management of, and are legally responsible for, the organisation.
