Deborah
Andrews Deborah Andrews
Artistic Director of Solar Bear
Deborah trained in dance at The Arts Educational School and Drama at
the RSAMD. She has worked extensively in Scotland as a freelance
director, writer, choreographer and workshop leader. Her theatrical
adaptation of Dream State: The New Scottish Poets won a Scotsman Fringe
First Award. In February 2002 Deborah co-founded Solar Bear Limited.
She is currently Artistic Director of Solar Bear, the adult arm of the
company. Deborah has a special interest in inclusive, multidisciplinary
theatre, and studied British Sign Language to level ll at Deaf
Connections.
She is currently studying part-time on the MLitt Creative Writing
course at Glasgow University.

Gerry
Ramage Artistic Director of Solar
Bear UNITED
Gerry trained at the R.S.A.M.D. He has worked extensively nationally
and internationally as a Director and Drama Tutor. In 1996 he became
Director of Raindog Young Blood, directing the highly successful
productions of Savage and UN. Gerry co-founded Solar Bear in February
2002 and is Artistic Director of Solar Bear UNITED, the young people’s
wing of the company. He continues the development of his work with
young people through the company, and in June 2007 will direct BROKEN
at Tramway in Glasgow.

Kate Dickie Patron
Kate’s feature film
debut was as Jackie in RED ROAD at the Cannes Film Festival 2006, where
the film was awarded the Jury Prize and Kate was nominated for the Prix
d’Interpretation Feminine. Her reviews were exceptional and Screen
International dubbed her “the rose of Cannes”. Kate has made several
successfully received short films and has had a distinguished British
television career, being nominated for Best Television Performance
BAFTA (Scotland) for TINSEL TOWN (Raindog Productions for BBC) and
playing lead roles in THE VICE (Granada) and TAGGART (STV), as well as
many comedy roles for the BBC in STILL GAME, RAB C NESBITT and
ISABELLE. She is a critically acclaimed theatre actress, having been
nominated for Best Actress by The Stage for her performance in ELECTRA,
and is a considerable presence on the cutting edge of new theatre in
productions such as RUNNING GIRL for leading innovative Scottish
companies including Suspect Culture, Theatre Cryptic and Boilerhouse.
Kate trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD).
